In October 2016 the Gunjur Village Museum for cultural heritage and environment preservation of Gambia will officially open its doors for visitors as well for the researchers. The establishment of the Museum took 7 years, and one of the main challenge, according to Lamin M. Bojang, the founder of the Museum, was the lack of knowledge of what is traditional culture. Thus, he hopes that the establishment of the museum not only as a preservation center but rather as a research center will help to Gambian and African people expand their knowledge and understanding of their traditional culture. The main feature of the Museum is that in its collection you can admire not only cultural artefacts, but also remaining trees and animal species
