In 2013, a survey of 3061 respondents revealed that Tanzania was the best Safari destination in Africa. Tanzania outperformed in this special competition Botswana, Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. The results of that survey can be found here:
Five years later Tanzania is still topping the charts in several categories: The Kilimanjaro, as we reported in a previous post, was recognized as Africa’s leading tourist attractions at the 2018 World Travel Awards. This must be good news for Tanzania’s policy makers. Now they need to build on these success story, to make the tourism sector grow and to make it work for Tanzania.
