Last year we noted that ““Sudan scored 16, up from 14 the previous year, but is still rated 175th out of 180 countries. Only Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, South Sudan, and Somalia rank lowest with scores of 16, 15, 14, 12, and 9 respectively.” Sudan is very corrupt and South Sudan is even more corrupt and this cannot possibly be good for either country.”

Sudan and South Sudan are still very corrupt, but while South Sudan is only in 178th position out of 180 countries worldwide, Sudan managed to climb three more positions and reach position 172 in the world.
