This semiarid region of western and north-central Africa extends from Senegal to Djibouti.  It forms a transitional zone between the arid Sahara desert to the north and the belt of humid savannas to the south. ”

so far 12 million drought resistant trees have been planted in Senegal,

15 million hectares of degraded land have been restored in Ethiopia

5 million hectares have been restored in Niger and 5 million more in Nigeria

3 million hectares have been restored in Burkina Faso.
