This portrait represents two children looking at the observer. The children are wearing formal and bulky clothes; which make them appear like adults. In essence, these children don’t have the freedom to embrace their childhood because of their family background. They spend their time looking after their sibling because their parents ran away or passed on. And society does not want to give a helping hand to these children.
Some of these children end up on the street and using drugs, trying to overcome their past and present experiences.
Therefore, that raises the question of who is humane in this inhumane world.
