African Artists’ Foundation in collaboration with the Nigerian Breweries has announced the 2016 edition of the National Art Competition now open. The theme for this year is “Shifting Boundaries” which according to the Corporate Communication Adviser, Kufre Ekanem, should be understood as “an exploration of the porous, situational, and ever changing concept of the boundary through artworks that will discuss and embody what a boundary was, is, and will become in the 21st century”.

With the focus on the process of artistic creation, artists in painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation, and video art should submit a proposal for an unrealized work due to 25th September.

12 finalists will be invited to take part in workshops by leading artists, professors, gallery owners, and arts professionals..
