As we mentioned in a recent post (http://www.africanpoliticsandpolicy.com/?p=4828) , the Liberia Diabetes Center announced that 3 Liberian out of 4 have diabetes and that about 3 million people either diabetes or pre-diabetes.

The figures are shocking and very perplexing. They are disproportionately higher than in the rest of the continent and are somewhat inconsistent with the estimates generated by the International Diabetes Federation for which, in 2015, there were only 40 thousand people with diabetes in Liberia. See: http://www.diabetesatlas.org/across-the-globe.html

Hence, either IDF was wrong in 2015, or the Liberia Diabetes Center is wrong now, or something very worrisome is happening in Liberia.
